Marc Dandin, PhD
Marc Dandin, PhD, is a Senior Consultant with expertise in a wide range of intellectual property matters. He specializes in technologies relating to additive manufacturing, medical devices, biosensing, batteries, power systems and circuits, mixed-signal integrated circuits, signal processing, financial services, micro-electro-mechanical systems, nanotechnology, lab-on-a-chip devices, optoelectronics, and instrumentation engineering.
Marc’s doctoral research focused on the design of single-photon avalanche diodes in modern CMOS processes and on the design and fabrication of integrated optical filters for UV light rejection, both technologies for use in point-of-care diagnostics devices. His research covered advanced topics in electrical and computer engineering, bioengineering, and mechanical engineering. Marc serves as a technical reviewer for several international peer-reviewed scientific and engineering journals. In 2017, he was elevated to the grade of Senior Member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in recognition of his professional standing.
Marc is also an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA.
Marc was the founding member of a technology start-up venture developing high performance biosensors for use in the medical diagnostics markets. For his technology entrepreneurship efforts, Marc was awarded the University of Maryland’s Bioengineering department’s Robert E. Fischell Fellowship in Biomedical Engineering, the Electrical Engineering department’s inaugural Jimmy H. C. Lin Award for Entrepreneurship, and the Mechanical Engineering department’s Certificate of Excellence. Marc is fluent in French and in Haitian Creole.
