Omoruyi Osula, PhD is a registered patent agent who focuses on patent preparation and prosecution in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology arts.  Omoruyi also conducts non-infringement, due diligence and patent landscape analyses, as well as legal opinions. His areas of expertise include pharmaceutical formulations, medical devices, antibody-based anti-cancer drugs, mass spectrometry, proteomics, and chromatography-based protein separation.

Omoruyi’s doctoral research focused on developing mass spectrometry and protein cleavage-based methods for the improved identification of post-translationally modified mitotic proteins.  This work led to two awards, two articles published in peer-reviewed journals, and afforded opportunities to present at international conferences.  Prior to joining Wood IP, Omoruyi spent several years as a patent agent with Sterne Kessler Goldstein & Fox.

Omoruyi’s interests also lie outside intellectual property, as he is the author of a poetry book, which was featured at the annual Baltimore Book Festival.
